Tom Forster Interview

Tell me a little about yourself (in a few sentences): 

Husband and father of 3 boys, a very determined individual.

What has been the proudest moment of your career?  

Launching Wheelie Good Finance and building it with a great team of people.

What hopes do you have for your industry moving forward? 

The car finance market has been particularly tough in the past few years, I am looking forward to a more stable market for interest rates to build consumer confidence. I’m also hoping for exciting innovations in the technology to allow us to help even more customers efficiently, giving them a greater customer experience.

How do you think a business can nurture employee buy-in for its objectives and values?  

Treat everyone as human beings, be respectful, always be honest, and help staff understand why things are the way they are, rather than tell them just to get on with it. When life gets tough, support your employees where possible.

What advice would you give to someone looking to work in a similar role to yours?  

Hard work pays off, own your mistakes as that’s how we grow, and remember that being trustworthy and honest are the most important values and that will get you far.

What do you do to unwind?  

Days out with the family, dog walking, watching a good movie, messing about with some tech!

What are the values within your job role?  

Show great integrity and honesty. Always be trustworthy.

What advice would you give to your younger self?  

Believe in yourself. Don’t live to work, work to live.

How would your partner describe you in three words?  

Hardworking, determined, family focused.
