Danny Hobbs Interview

Tell me a little about yourself (in a few sentences): 

I’m a dad, husband, and life long Bristol Rovers Supporter.

What has been the proudest moment of your career?  

It’s a tie between winning our company’s Lifetime Achievement Award and becoming a shareholder in Big Golden Pineapple.

What hopes do you have for your industry moving forward? 

For debt purchasing and selling to be revolutionised in the UK to make the process safer and easier for the industry.

How do you think a business can nurture employee buy-in for its objectives and values?  

No matter what your role in the company is, invite and encourage conversations and debates. 

What advice would you give to someone looking to work in a similar role to yours?  

Believe in yourself. Believe in the company goal. Set a work ethic your children would be proud of.  Listen to what the company wants to achieve and work hard to achieve those company goals.

What do you do to unwind?  

DJ, listen to music, and play the guitar.

What are the values within your job role?  

Trust, integrity, honesty, and being true to yourself. Not being afraid to tell people something is wrong. Be open to change as it will happen and you will have to adapt and overcome these changes.

What advice would you give to your younger self?  

Don’t give up. If something is making you unhappy, change it.

How would your partner describe you in three words?  

Stubborn, Reliable, Authentic.

What celebrity would you cast to play you in a movie about your life? 

The late Sean Lock.
